Simultaneously, measuring instruments or artifacts are subjected to extensive functional tests to determine their properties or to ensure conformity with manufacturer specifications, normative requirements, or other user specifications. This can include, for example, information on insulation resistance, stability, hysteresis, self-heating, or inhomogeneity in temperature sensors; the total harmonic distortion of an acoustic calibrator; the input matching or background noise of a signal generator or vector network analyzer; etc. – which is required as additional information in the calibration certificate but is not suitable for traceability to SI units.
In some cases, results of functional tests must be documented in the calibration certificate as necessary supplementary information on procedures, in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 7.8.2.1.

]]> Die Kalibrierung dient in erster Linie der metrologischen Rückführbarkeit einer oder mehrerer Messgrößen. Gleichzeitig werden Messgeräte oder Artefakte umfangreichen Funktionstests unterzogen, um deren Eigenschaften zu bestimmen oder Konformität in Bezug auf Herstellerspezifikationen, normative Anforderungen oder sonstige Anwendervorgaben sicherzustellen. Dies können beispielsweise Angaben eines Isolationswiderstands, einer Stabilität, einer Hysterese, einer Eigenerwärmung oder einer Inhomogenität bei Temperatursensoren, der Klirrfaktor eines Schallkalibrators, die Eingangsanpassung oder Grundrauschen eines Signalgenerators oder eines Vektor-Netzwerk-Analysators, ... sein - die als zusätzliche Information im Kalibrierschein gefordert sind, aber nicht zur Rückführung auf SI-Einheiten geeignet sind.
Ergebnisse von Funktionstests müssen in einigen Fällen gemäß ISO/IEC 17025:2017 7.8.2.1 als notwendige Zusatzinformation zu Verfahren im Kalibrierschein dokumentiert werden.
